Event: HES/Electives Night
Date: Thursday 1 August 2013
Time: 5:30PM
Where: P1 Lecture Theatre, Patricia O'Shane Building, School of Rural Medicine, University of New England

Come along to this information night about the Health Equity Selective which is undertaken in Year 3!

We have some 4th year speakers who will share their experiences and talk about what it is like to work / do HES overseas and here in Australia, how to organise travel, personal experiences, tips, and also to answer any questions you may have.

Second years in particular should not miss this opportunity to have their questions answered as we will have to start organising soon!

Food will be provided from 5.30, with the presentations kicking off at 6 :)

One of our amazing sponsors, Work the World, is giving away a $150 Visa Prepaid card as a door prize to go towards your next textbook purchase...see you all tomorrow!

As part of the Joint Medical Program Year 3 curriculum students must undertake a Health Equity Selectives (HES) rotation. This unit is designed to expose students to factors affecting health equity, including access to care, through a structured clinical experience and associated learning activities. The unit also provides an opportunity for students to plan, conduct and report on a community field project.

HES Elective Night involves speakers who will inform year 1 and 2 students of what is required to organize and undertake a HES elective.
